The segment exploited Asian American stereotypes and exemplified the very issue of China-bashing the report supposedly sought to assess. This racist and derogatory segment damages Chinese American and Asian American communities and exacerbates negative stereotypes towards our communities.

Washington, DC — On Wednesday, October 5, 2016, the National Asian American Survey (NAAS) will release a report on the voting and policy preferences of Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs). The telephone survey, conducted in English and 9 Asian languages, is a comprehensive effort to understand patterns of civic engagement AAPI communities. The October 5 release will cover items related to the presidential race, party identification, issue preferences, and ethnic media consumption.

New Data Shows Exclusionary Rhetoric Prompting Seismic Shift in Political Support Among Asian Americans
Washington, DC – A survey released today by Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC, Asian and Pacific Islander American Vote (APIAVote) and AAPI Data demonstrates that exclusionary rhetoric alters significantly the way Asian Americans will vote and how they view candidates. The 2016 Spring Asian American Voter Survey, which was conducted by AAPI Data, polled 1,200 Asian American registered voters.
